Dredges w/ Ilanders

Just trying to get some opinions from other people out there. Do you prefer having some sort of skirt on the outside of your dredge with natural baits or nothing at all?

I think a lot of guys are still running naked Mullet. I have seen some ballyhoo dredges with the first bait on each arm skirted. I only used one once and it seemed to work well. I suggest a bright color to make the dredge more visible.

for my ballyhoo dredges, i put a duster made with crystal flash on the leading hoos . i also whip 1 in between the first set of ballyhoo. the rest i run *****.

I was surprised this year at all the "Bait Balls" I saw this year in OC and none of em had any illanders, skirts, or mylar flashers in em and there were "Cutters" everywhere !! Go Figure ???

I like to do either every other bar or one in side and the next bar gets the outside.

That would be A high dollar dredge with all islanders, but it would be A nice one.

funny - i saw pics of the whites they killed in the WMO and they had squid in them. hmmmmmmmmmm

Bill we killed one in OC that had squid in it, the one we killed in Cape May had bullet bonita. Are you saying you want me to rig 50 sqids for the dredge I can only imagine how long that would take.

I sure miss my blue squid chain. That damn 600 pound blue one just had to rip it right off the teaser and go slinging it all over the ocean. Man it would be nice to be able to make another one, but for some reason our local tackle shop has been out of em for about 2 months. They tell me when Henry's get them in, they'll get them in.
