Thanks Fred, I will keep using a single circle then. Fred, what size circle hook do you use for tuna and dorado? In the past I have used 9/0 and 10/0, but wondered if I go with a bigger hook, would increase my capture ratio?

Capt Fred I'll try the releases both tight and loose, my buddy who did this said he liked the quick release so the fish could turn before it came tight and the hook would set as the fish swam away from the boat as opposed to trying to set it with the fish and boat going in the same direction. Me, I have no clue yet so I'll do both next chance I have and I don't even know when that will be, maybe August at this rate.

Capt Steve that hook is by QuickRig, CB style but I don;t remember the size I just grabbed it off the shelf thinking it looked about right.

The only time I like 2 hooks is hi speed wahoo trolling, for everything else I see no reason for it really. I know I did a double hook rig on the mahi rig thread but that was as much to show it being done as trying to catch fish. No way to count how many mahi i've caught on single hook marlin lures/rigs.

I think in the grand scheme of things if double hooks really outperformed singles for marlin then that would be the standard, but it isn't. There may be reasons for that!
