    NC Diawa Saltist problem

I emailed Diawa because whenever I want to put the reel into freespool, the lever just sort of slides down and doesn't click or even go into freespool, but instead still has full drag. The rep there thinks the slutch springs are bad and the best thing to do would be to send the reel all the way out to California . Well thats not happening, so I was wondering if anybody else has had a similar issue with bad slutch springs and how to fix them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just run it up to texs and let them take a look. Shouldnt be anything big and beats the hell out of shipping it away. I just got another one and havnt even had the chance to use it. We all need to go soon.

the daiwa service center in california is good if you decide to go that route. the closest daiwa factory service center to us is TI's bait and tackle in nags head. their reel guy is the best around. call and talk to him and he might be able to diagnose your problem over the phone and send you parts. he helped a co-worker of mine out just last week with a noisy roller bearing on a spinning reel.

i dont have TI's number handy but you can find it on daiwas website.
