    DIAWA SALTISE...ANY EXPERIENCE

I am looking for some feedback on these reels. i know that this model has only been on the market for a little while. interested in the bigger of the 2 models, i think they are called the 40 or the 50. any info would be greatly appreciated.
also...if not these reels, what would you reccoment. I am looking to spend under $200 a reel and am trolling/livebaiting in south florida. thanks

Look in the Verical Jigging and Deep Drop forum--- right much info on them there. Most people are very happy with them for the price. I have a 40 and although I have only used it once, am very inpressed so far.

I have a high speed levelwind version, nice reel! Just be aware that the drag is only good till about 15# with Carbontex drag discs, the anti reverse slips around 15, sometimes a little higher, sometimes lower! Daiwa claims 20-22#.

That is a fantastic reel for the money. As long as you don't lock down the drag it will serve you for a long long time. After the warranty is up , change out your drag washers to carbontex and you will be impressed.

You can get the drag washers at
    www.smoothdrag.com.

    for trolling and live bait.
the TLD 20 or 25 if you need bigger reels,

I own 4 the 30,30t,40,50 all are great reels and serve their purpose well. the 50 with the drag upgrade is capable of some pretty impressive numbers and has caught striped marlin and many many yellowtail kingfish.

I havent had any problems using these for livebaiting... my torium(s) didnt fare so well and I only use them for light mono now
