Im extremely pleased with both the rods and the reels. Paul gave me top notch service through every part of the process, that actually started in JANUARY! The quality of construction cant be beat. These rods are SOLID. Top quality materials ensure I'll have these rods for a long time and they will perform to the tests I will put them through. Ive used rods with fingergrips on the foregrips and Ill never go back. JPR was one of the lowest quotes I got for these rods but the reason I chose him was the ability to provide me with these grips. Theres nothing better for leverage and security. It feels like a natural fit and doesnt cramp the hand. They are also slightly triangular.

Tiburons are the best reels Ive ever used. The auto-shift is unbeatable. Its smooth and much more efficient than messing with your standard two speed. I felt a Tib 50 would be a bit overkill. The prototypes are being made and sold now but they are expensive. I would wait till the price is more reasonable but I definitely want one. The AVET is a fantastic reel, has a large, smooth drag and is going to be the 'go to' rod for pitching to marlin, deep drop and other tough jobs. All of my reels were taken apart and greased and oiled.
