    A couple newly delivered rods...

    So Agitated88 was looking for a couple new rods...

    For him, he wanted something to let him chuck a big bait a long way and for a young friend a casting rod...

    Here they are;

    Thumbs up

    Sorry folks, but neither Fred's nor my pictures do these rods any justice. Once I get the reels installed, I'll try and get better pictures. Thanks again Fred, can't wait to see my little buddy's reaction when he get's his.

    Nice job Fred those are very good looking rods. One of these days I need you to give me the low down on using carbon fiber.

    Nice looking rods. I see a lot these days with the "slick grips". Don't take this the wrong way, but what is the purpose?

    The grips on those rods are carbon skin over foam cores. They are very light, but very tough.

    You shape the foam core - your imagination is the limit on what you can do, then apply the carbon skin with epoxy and you have a bulletproof grip.

    Yes they are slick, but not slippery

    The cool thing about custom rod building is that you can build a truly unique product - the grips are one of a kind

    Thanks for the clarification. I've never used one but the first thing that always comes to mind is that they would slide in your hand. I like the looks of them.

    Bird Dog...I already have five (3 baitcasters/2 spinning) of these rods, and we use them catching Stripers and Catfish.

    Lake Texoma/Custom Rod report...

    One of them is used by my youngest daughter (8yo) and I can assure you that there is no issue with "slippage." The rods are extremely comfortable to hold/cast with, very functional, and a breeze to clean up. Very pleased with these rods, and I'm looking forward to putting a little bend into my new one.

    Very cool Fred and sweet looking rods. Love the carbon fiber grips and bet they are very light rods.

    I use the carbon fiber rod grips all day in the heat of the summer and never feel like they will slip out of my hand. Mike made one for me that I think the rod is 3.5 ozs, gave it the test in the Savanna tournament.
