I think the answer to this question is no, but is there any way to replace the inside glass ring of a rod guide (I think it' aluminum oxide or Hardloy) without replacing and re-wrapping the whole guide? Thanks.

not really.....but yes, you can..probably wont last..looks like hell.. and it will probably pop out when you have a trophy fish on....some guys put Sic rings in the cheaper frames..and they work......probably faster just to replace whole guide..
Great, thanks for the response Paul, you're right not to take chances and just get it done properly. The pros always say to check all your guides before you go or run panty hose through them a few times a year to look for potential snags, good advice. Last trip while winding in a rod, when the lure got near the boat, I looked down and saw a white snowball in one of the guides where a small chip in the guide had shaved the line down as I was cranking.So much for the brand new 80 mono I had put on it the day before. Lesson learned!!!!
