    Casting a Tyrnos? Anyone?

Anyone cast a Tyrnos, plugging or bait, on a longer rod?
I realize they are marketed more as jigging and boat reels but wondering how well they might cast.
The Tyrnos 8 seems a little small for a 10'6" rod and the 12 seems a little heavy.
I'm wondering about casting metal, 2-3 oz. Any experience?
I ask because I have a couple of Tyrnos already and am wondering whether I need to purchase another reel this winter or will the 8 or 12 pair up well on my 10'6" for throwing metal.
I don't currently have the opportunity to throw it to find out for myself..

    Hello

    Have 4 Tyrnos reels (2) 20's and (2) 30's

I have never casted with them or even jigged with them they are just too heavy..

    I jig with toriums 16's and 20's and Saragosa 8000 and 10000

I use the tyrnos for heavy bottom fishing and trolling which they are perfect for...

I don't have any #8 or #12 but I think your assessment about too small and too heavy may be on the money...
