Jerry Brown is the finest braid. I also like Tuf-line XP right behind the JB. I have experienced too many problems with Power Pro. So many you couldn't give me a lifetime supply of it. I won't ever go back to Power Pro.

The only problems I have seen for spinners is this I have some 8500 penns The bail does not go all the way up/down to lay the line as well as the new reels Ihave switched to the shimano spheros and quantum Boca both of these cover the whole spool I bought both of these to see which way I would go to replace the penn as the latest 850/950 I looked at still had not improved the length of travel for the bail The slammer series has but is not big enough for my applications
If you go top end reels this is addressed in most The only one I have seen that didn't was Van Stall (That was 3 yrs ago might have changed) This is the only thing I have noticed that is a major concern imho
I have used spiderwire stealth, tufline, stren superbraid,PP, JB and Izorline the stealth gives me the least amount of wind knots and most distance of everything I have tried to date I'm not a charter captain so no sponsors to pimp for. I have also put over 1000 tuna on the deck with a spinner I have been chasing bft with a spinner since about 1978
I have the stren super braid in 10lb and berkley fire line in 50lb at $5 a spool I figured I would try it, I'm having a hard time getting used to the difference between it a mono it doesn't seem to give as much and my hooksets are too hard
This is what I do when I want to fill the spool with braid. The rubber band works great!
Some people put mono backing on first.

so does a cpl turns of the white sports tape / first aid tape.
I use Power Pro on all of my inshroe gear, and had issues at the beginning, I later found out my tackle shop put the line on backwards....boy did they geat an ear full....and spooled me the right way for free to replace itIf it is put on wrong it can be hell and never function correctly. My best advice, if you can, let ALL of it out on a boat trip as someone is running and then wind it all back in, it will make sure it lays naturally and get rid of any twists if they are present. Make sure you have a small weight on the tag end, 1/2oz should do it. Since I started doing this after I respool I have not had issues.
Also have used spiderwire and fireline, had more issues with them when they first came out, but heard from many they are better now. Have not used tufline but hear it is good stuff also.
As for offshore fishing, I use Jerry Brown all the way, haven't used it inshore yet but might have to. Have had 0 issues with this line, I use 80 and 100lb hollowcore and do all my own topshot splicing as well, the stuff is super strong and easy to work with. By far it is my favorite braid to date, might have to try their smaller sizes in solid braid for my inshore rods this season.
I have had better luck with the suffix 30 super braid, I find it to be smoother, no loss of coloration like pp, less wind knots, I can get my knots to sintch better. One thing I still have to do and you need to do is backing and I have found mono to be the best for backing. If your rods are newer you got no worries about the guides. One thing you should always remember is keep your drag settings set o the manufacters rating for the reel don't pack it with fittylb test and set the drag to that, if the reel is recommended to 15 to 20lb test keep youyr drags at the lower setting you'll have less trips to the reel repair man. Peace
I have had it break countless times while jigging, most time just inside of or just outside of the top guide, so I know it isn't breaking at the knot. I have lost about 2 dozen jigs like that and a few fish on the other end as well. The jigs I los were mostly 6 or 8 oz leadheads, but I have lost a few Shimano butterfly jigs also.
