braid and flurocarbon question

I am fishing a river mouth here in Jamaica using live sprat,we get snook, tuna, bonito, big sharks and big tarpon.Tarpon is very active out there and most grabs are from them.I've seen some really big ones out there,100-150lb and its just a matter of time before I hook one that size.
Ive always used mono and a wire leader for my set up but down here that set up is not ideal.I switched to suffix 50lb braid not to long ago but am thinking of going up to the 65.
Got a few questions, hope to get a few opinions to get a better understanding.
1.What size braid would you recommend using for fish in that size range or even a little bigger then 150 lb.
Also what is 65lb braid in mono?Is there anywhere online to see the converson for all line sizes?

2.What size flurocarbon you think I should use as the leader that is strong enough to hold and this will be used with live bait.

Jah Bless

Hi Jamaican
1, I would go straight to 80lb braid .47mm is the equivalent to 25lb mono I'm assuming that you are casting from the shore this will still cast quite well as for no 2 that I would use either the same breaking strain or go up to 100lb, and I would make it the same length as a "shock leader" 4 turns on the reel, length of your rod and 3,4 feet to your weight/ hook set up depending on your casting style. If your fishing from a boat so much the better then go for a 25m top shot of fluro still use a short hook length of wire just for the tooth critters

For leader material, I've been using yozuri pink fluro. and
I think the pink is less visible than the clear flouro. I get away with a larger dia. leader.
