I have a calcutta 400 loaded with 40lb braid and want to match it with a good rod for tog, sea bass, flounder, and any other stuff I may run into.
Something with good sensitivity, but plenty of back bone.
Thoughts?

i use a custom lami on my 400TE
great tog rod, and can double for striper, fluking,
even worked great with fishskipper this year for the tiles and grouper in NC.
all round great rod
can be cut from 8' down to about 7'5"
depending on your uses
guys have been know to use it for TUNA![]()
Dave we have a style of rod over this side of the pond called an uptider they are quite a longish rod designed to cast from an boat on the hook, out and forwards, it's really a trap system! anyway here is a reasonable link, www.fishing.co.uk/article.php3?id=239
look for a rod that can throw 6-10oz they have all the back bone and are real sensitive at the tip. It would match your reel/line setup fine.
It is not a custom but I have a 7ft heavy action St. Croix Premier series rod with a Calcutta 400 B on it. In fact I have two. Great for flounder, tog, casting 2-5 oz bucktails, spadefish, ETC. The biggest fish I have caught on this outfit is a 56lb rockfish. (Rockfish - Personal best)
As mentioned it is not a custom rod, but I really like it!!
I would check out Seekers CJB or even the CLB series of blanks or factory built rods. They are either graphite/E-glass or Super Seeker graphite/S-glass. The SS series tips are a little stiffer then the E-glass. These are great rods if you have never used one!
6'6" gloomis muskie rod,if you want to try it dave , let me know, just sitting in the closet in rehoboth.
