    Best line for Tiagra 80WA

Appreciate any suggestions on what best lb line for my Tiagra 80WA - I will mainly use for Trolling Marlin and Tuna around Okinawa Japan and Australia.
I was considering JB 200lb hollow core with 200lb of around 150yds mono or should I use a wind-on instead?
New to trolling so any help appreciated on how to rig properly to troll lures.

I like the Suffix Tritanium, it is very strong and super abraision resistant. The only place that I have seen it in stock is at Black Bart Store in Palm Beach, FLorida.

Being new to trolling, I would strongly recommend staying away from braid--- it will cause more headaches and wasted line (money) than you can imagine.
Good ole Ande or Sufix 100lb on the entire spool will serve you (or anyone else)well on an 80.---- you ain't going to get spooled--- guarandamtit.

    line for 80w

You can go with simple Momoi Line 80lb. very strong to a 200lb test wind on leader for optimal yards. Unless you go to braid. I raise everything from Marlin to swords in Fl with this setup! goodluck

BLenger. I would stay away from running all braid up to a short wind-on. Instead, i would go with your original plan and run 200lb Braid chinese finger trapped and super glued to 100 yards of the mono of your choice (i'd go 150lb moimoi)

The reason on this setup i would go with the 100 yards of mono is for trolling....Whoever is running your cockpit is going to have cut up hands messing around with braid all day. I like to work a cockpit sending as little braid through my hands as possible. While you are trolling, more times than not you won't have any braid off the reel until you hook a fish, and that will be the only time the angler has to fool with braid. Good luck

80-100# DACRON and approximately 10 more yards(for tying multiple bimini's throughout a season if necessary) than the farthest back you will ever troll a lure in your spead, of 100# mono and then your wind-on. Do yourself a big favor and at least get the price of this set-up versus braid backing and all mono. All mono will appear cheaper until you factor changing out the whole spool every yr. or two versus just the topshot every 6-12 months. Dacron is far cheaper than braid will live just as long or longer and provides you with a little bit of stretch whereas braid doesn't have any. Just be aware that drag settings differ when using dacron vs mono.

We typically fish 100# suffix superior clear on penn or shimano 80's for big bluefin tuna. It does the trick just fine and you get plenty of line on the reel. It also is a good abrasion resistant line.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, gives me something to think about and good feedback - I will probably go with 150lb momoi hollow core and 150lb or 200lb around 150yds momoi.

150 hollow core 1000 yds with a 130 Diamond topshot of 100-150 yds. As soon as it gets stiff or cloudy swap out the topshot. I would make a wind-on loop for the topshot check out this video
