    Avet Reel Problem

    Hello,

I have an Avet EX Pro 30W/2. I use it fishing for bluefin in the Northeast.

Last weekend I noticed that the button you press to get past the "Strike" position is missing. It must have shaken/vibrated out while running.

My question is: is this something I can fix myself or should I send it to Avet to fix? I'd hate to miss a few weeks of the already short season.

I assume I need the following parts:

    53- Lever Button E-Clip EXW302-053
    54- Lever Knob Nut EXW302-054
    55- Lever Button Spring EXW302-055
    56- Lever Knob Button EXW302-056

Does anyone know if these parts snap or screw together? Is this fix beyond my limited mechanical skills?

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

i think that you will be alright.. i haven't torn down and avet 30 but i have taken a MXJ apart... as well as everything Penn 130 down to the smallest spinning reel you can think of... a few things will all but assure success. time, small tools, schematic, more time.
