Assist Hooks

Had some time on my hands so I whiped up a bunch of assist hooks. I have some other designs that I am working on and will post pics when I have worked out a few bugs. . I like to keep the assist hook about 1/3rd the length of the jig. The jig pictured is a 5oz Sea Rock the assist hook shown would probably be better suited for a 7oz jig. Just wanted to show what it looks like rigged.

Materials list for 5oz and 7oz jigs

Hooks - Mustad 10827BLN Ultra point 4X
5oz 4/0-5/0 7oz 5/0-7/0

Kevlar Cord- 500lb test (1.5mm) 700lb test (1.96mm)

2:1 Heat shrink tubing- Red, Black and Luminous 3/16"-1/4"

Owner solid rings- size(s) #6.5 #7.5

if you want to get them TOTALY tested
give a couple to the guys going on the AJ trip next week
they will get a workout
i think we are trying to get a "mini' jigging fling for saturday afternoon
have a few jigging guys getting together for info share fun and jigging rod pulling..bring them down
