    working on anything new? haven't seen many posts lately. Hopefully everyone is out fishing and not couped up at the rod bench.

    Im too busy doing rods. Ive got lots of pictures, and no time to post. I will get some up soon. Abalone rods are looking awesome!!!! The process has been refined. It makes them look so much better.

    Actually no. I leave Thursday morning for a week in Oregon. Inlaws for the week and king salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and halibut. Also going to Batson for a day up in Washington. Im looking forward to it.

    I have found that the aquabluemaui raw veneer has a reduced soak time in the warmer weather. Its now 3 hours or so.

    Cool. So have you tried doing any additional heating to see if that would help even more? I wonder if it was hot vinegar if that would improve.

    How hot are you talking to reduce the soak time?

    NO HEATING!!!!!!!!!!!! Heat takes the adhesive and breaks it down. Also, additional soaking eats away the shell. At most, I would give it 4 to 5 hours. Its very flexible at 3 hours tho.
