The long answer to that question is .......... NO.......

I don't tie them. I have a guy on the left coast that ties them for me 4 dozen at a time. I just don't have time to build rods, make gaffs and feed you video's....AND sleep and a 60 hour a week job.

Ponce, if you can slip 4 more hours a day into the mix, I might consider it......... Naah, still no!!!
There are whole bools on how to do them and I tried. I really did. I gave up after wasting a weekend trying to tie one, really, one of them and was unsuccessful!!! LOL

THE OPTIONS ARE LIMITLESS. WANT 3 GRIPS ON A GAFF FOR LIFTING FISH INTO THE BOAT? WELL, THAT WOULD BE A THIRD CORD WRAP AND AN ENLARGED TURKSHEAD TO GIVE YOUR HAND A NICE BACKSTOP FOR LIFTING POWER.

WANT A NICE LOOKING TAG STICK WITH GRIPS AND TURKSHEAD KNOTS WITH A LOOP ON THE BACK END TO GO OVER YOUR WRIST SO IT DOESN'T TAKE A SWIM? WELL, THAT WOULD BE A SPECIAL TIED TURKSHEAD WITH A LOOP INTEGRATED INTO THE GRIP.

I'm thinking of building a 6' long, 4" gap gaff from sratch. How are the Mudhole components? Is there a better place to go?

The Mudhole CRB Gaff Blanks are solid - I've been very pleased with them. The mudhole Hooks are matched to the particular blank. I usually make my own hooks, as I can get a bit more creative, and I prefer to drill the hook and peg the hook into the blank - in addition to epoxy.

Also I prefer cord wrapping the grips rather than the foam grips in the Mudhole Kits.

If you call them, they can piece meal the gaff for you. So, if you like the shaft and hook, you can get just that and if you want the cord I have that also.

I learned the hard way that the shafts and hooks are matched. They didn't tell me that and I ordered 3 different hooks and 1 shaft. Didn't work out as planned.

It must be gaff week for everyone. I sent out 5 just this week!!!
