Thumbs up 5'6" OTI 600g - Custom Wrapped by JPR Rods

Hey all - new to this forum but I'm sure I'll some familiar names here. Anyway, Paul wrapped the new 600g OTI blank for me.....my dad just got it on Saturday. I have not seen it in person yet, just these pictures, but it looks awesome. According to my dad, its extremely light (even with the metal seat which I chose bc it matched the color scheme ) and incredibly strong. The titanium guides look great, and from the pics I'm extremely happy. Can't wait to use it!

It is a Philadelphia Eagles theme - you can see the logo below the first guide

    I'm thinking Phillies next?

I am learning about jigging. What is the gram weights about on these rods?
Is it the weight of the rod??

most g ratings are the recomended lure weight to use with the rod/ blank
the lures are rated in grams
the higher the g rating typically the heavier the rod rating

Sweet rod!!!!....Is there any particular reason that the first guide is turned backwards on the rod? Does this make it sturdier as most of the pressure is on the first guide? Or is it purely cosmetic?

the coils of line go thru better without the sides of the guide there, helps casting a little

here is a pic of A OTI 600g rod that was cut down to about 5' lifting about 18#
different rod from the green, same blank

the plan is to have this rod matched with a stella 10k this weekend jigging amberjack in north carolina. i'll probably be using 24lbs of drag, and have no reservations as i know the rod will handle it with ease. i'll bump the drag up to 30lbs when i test my saragosa.

Makes sense! Less line slap on the legs of the guide....nice....
