THE DRAG WASHER IS MUCH BIGGER ON THE EIGHTY...AND NO WAY CAN THE 50W EQUAL THE 80'S PERFORMANCE WHEN USING A 16 OR 24 OLD SALTY PLANER..........

I have 2 Tiagra 130's for sale that would make good planer reels.

have a charter boat friend that i showed my DFA set-up to and he went with the 50wlrsa tiagara, it lasted less than a month before the drag weakened and the drag started to both slip and get "hirky-jerky" when you tested it.

this goes to show that size does matter when it comes to drag washers.

thanks marty for bringing this to light and proving once again the importance of using an 80 wide.
