I recently inherited an Olympic DS 3, Dohzuki 500 DG reel and know nothing about it. The reel definitely has issues and needs repair, but I can't seem to find any source from searches, and I don't even know if Olympic is even made any longer, what the reel is worth, and how much to put into it if I can find a repair source. I am guessing it is good quality, but I have no idea there either. Sort of a funky levelwind system, but I assume this type does work. If it is worth repairing, or if I can find some outfit that does this, I would be using it in Alaska for Halibut and Salmon occasionally.
Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated as if you haven't already guessed, I am pretty green in this area. Thanks, Jim |

i've worked on several. you have to take a penn drag washer that matches as closely as possible and then hand cut it down to size. the design of many of these older reels is fairly basic. alan
