THE NUMBER ONE NAME IN FISHING TEAMS UP WITH TEAM BAD COMPANY, THE ALL
TIME LEADER IN TOURNAMENT WINS PENN INKS MAJOR SPONSORSHIP WITH TEAM BAD COMPANY When fishing for big game, one reel company comes to mind – PENN, and when anglers think of major billfish tournaments, Team Bad Company tops the list. PENN and Team Bad Company have joined forces to produce the toughest team on deep waters. Using the PENN International 130, Team Bad Company tears up the tournament trail in Mexico and Kona. Competing in nearly every major billfish tournament, Team Bad Company consists of three tournament-fishing boats. The teams' record of success is unprecedented, including a world record $3.9 million payout in the 2006 Bisbee's Black and Blue. Captain Steve Lassley is a leader and innovator in Pacific coast fishing. Steve is an expert at all aspects of tournament fishing, including finding fish, boat handling, and tackle selection and rigging. In addition to these talents, Steve is outstanding at managing all aspects of the tournament teams, which require excellent communication skills, boat management, budgeting, and all the other aspects that go into operating his world-class team. "I am very fortunate to be a part of Team Bad Company and the innovative steps we are taking to revolutionize West Coast sportfishing," said Captain Steve Lassley. "Partnering with PENN will allow us to use the best in big game fishing reels. Team Bad Company will also use their knowledge of big game fishing to assist PENN with new product development." Penn International 130 models are constructed to achieve the extreme drag ranges expected by anglers fishing with Dacron backing and a Mono Top shot. Other products advertise their high-potential drag settings but fail to inform anglers that drag settings result in drag curves that are anything but angler friendly and have a high potential to pop lines and pull hooks, resulting in lost fish. Penn International 130 models have been engineered to achieve these extreme drag settings while maintaining an appropriate and smooth drag curve throughout the entire range of the drag-lever. Team Bad Company will be working closely with Penn engineers to help design and develop new reels specific to West Coast sportfishing needs. |

I've gotten to see a lot of tournaments and crews in the last year. Team Bad Company is definitely one of the very best. It's good to see them paired with another of the best out there, it is a perfect compliment...
