It all depends on the boat, but around $2500 to $3000 for a 10day..

The season for long range boats is going to be big this year.

Yes, I have seen it a few times. Does the wife fish or is she coming along for the ride? They have some great cabins on board, H & I are roomy and private at the back of the boat, I like C upfront in the middle.

If she is going for the ride then you might want to look for one of the newer boats with a little fancier setup. The Independence - The Intrepid . Both out of the Point Loma docks as well both good boats, just a little roomer and newer.

Let me know if you need more info.

Does anyone ever catch these big tuna on the long range boats using the japanese style of vertical jigging...aka speed jigging? Has anyone ever tried?

    Cool

I have seen many types of fishing done for these cows, But the line weight required to land them is so heavy that I don't think that style would work. For the smaller ones in the 100 lb. or less I have seen that done, I have even tried it and caught a few small tuna (less than 50lb) with the butterfly jigs.

    Cool Tuna.
