I know several people who do this,
not so bad, when the lakes are drawn down for winter pool, you make rock houses and tie barrels down on the shore

when the water comes back up for summer pool they will be there.

i have gone to another methood to get 20 pounds of filet in a coulpe of hours
take a swimming noodle and cut it up in 3 sections
tie a circle hook with a weight and a line of 6 -7 ft
throw out 60 of them off the main channel near a flat

get some beer and talk awhile and the noodles start bobbing around
cruise over and get your fish.
