Landlocked Spring SLABS! (aka not-so-crappy Crappie)

In the continuing saga of raised on saltwater, now landlocked due to career choices - sooooo, you upgrade your equipment, get everything ready for the spring bluewater bite, and yes even clear two months worth of Fridays on the calendar - and then the wind blows EVERY weekend for 7 weeks in a row - what's a fella to do to sooth the FEVER?? Backyard slabs, of course. Air temp 57, water temp 48. 8 Largemouths and 5 Crappie fished slow in 15ft of chilly, crystal clear pond water. Crappie is 14" - note 3 inch rattle trap held sideways in his little bucket mouth! Now....where's that House Autry Breader....

    NICE crappie too!

I have been meaning to do some freshie fishing, but...I just never do.

Were you on the bank, or in a boat, or from a little dock?

TriAngler, great pics. I love to see the freshwater pics. Keep them coming. I went out the other day and landed a couple pickerel. It was great to get on the water. If you would pm me the make of the lure. I really like that one. Thanks
