Lake Mahopac, NY 9/19

Fished lake Mahopac in Putnam County this past weekend. Light wind, about 70* and very few fish. We fished a lot of shallow rock and flats, but probably should have went deeper, 20 + feet for smallmouth. Managed 2 keepers, 1 largemouth around 2.5 lbs and 1 smallmouth around 2.75 lbs. Also a few small ones. This lake used to have a ton of grass, until they put grass carp in to control the weeds, now there are none. At first after the weed was gone, the lake was easy to fish for largemouth, now the largemouth have become inconsistant and the smallmouth dominate, but stay real deep. Both fish came on a green pumpkin jig.
