    fresh water guam???

Alright i know this is a long shot but i have been stationed on guam now for the past two years i've done my fair share of saltwater and spearfishing but im looking for some freshwater fishing oppertunities. ive thrown a line in one small marshy pond i know of and managed to catch a small talapia or two. and i have tried to get into the fena lake resivoir to go after the untapped large and smallmouth bass that were stocked there wayyy back in the day (and the roumored peacock bass) and have gone untouched since 9/11 when the navy denied acess to it for national security. i have heard a local or two talk about some big catfish somewhere on island and i know that the rivers here supposidly hold some good brackish water oppertunities. any advice or information? or just plain old tips and techniques for fishing this area?

    much appreciated

Have you thought about talking to either the senior chief at Public Works or the his counterpart at the MAs?

Even better might be to have your most senior chief make the call.

    Good luck!

The waters around Talafofo Falls probably hold some freshwater fish....You could fish the area when I was stationed there in the early 80's...don't know about now though....Good luck...Bob

    Smile Guam

The most senior enlisted person in Public Works or in the MAs (security forces) more than likely have control of reservoirs on military bases.
Have your E9 talk to their E9. Everybody knows the Navy is run by the CPOs.

a few of my freinds and i have already taken that route, one even talked to their cmc (command master cheif) and got turned down, i had a chance and blew it about 2 years ago my roomates girlfreind who lived with us and was an MA was on night post their for a few months and even let us on i saw the lake but had no clue what was in it well she pcs'd and i blew my chance.

anyways what we got is that no one is allowed on the lake cause its a national security violation, its not up to them. The lake is the whole southern side of the islands water supply.

anyways i will keep trying till i leave here, but thanks for the advice.
