    $400 Crappie day

Knocked the dust off the fresh water gear and took my son crappie fishing today.
Since it has been a while, a little more prep than usual was needed.
    New Trolling motor battery: $75
a new spinning rig: $100 (more to follow)
assorted tackle and new line for rigs: $50
New prop for duck boat ( destroyed it during duck season): $125
    Bait, sodas, munchys: $35
    Fuel: $50
Driving down the interstate, hit a god aweful pot hole. One of the 6 rod & reels went flying out of the boat. As it hit the pavement, I could see out the rear view mirror it getting run over my a cute little Bmer. Pull over to retrieve and you got it, the brand new, never been used, spinning rig.
Tally: two slab spawners and a ton of dink bucks. This could set a record on price per pound out of the skillet.

Glenn that sucks but remember time spent on the water with your children can never have a price tag on it. It almost seems that nothing could go right for you that day but I hope once you got on the water everything was just fine.

Hey Glenn sorry to hear that, hit the James at Dutch Gap rolled some nice cats and saw the shad starting to show up.

Went down to Curls Neck in Hopewell and saw about 1500 geese and another 60 or so snow geese flying low late last night when the clouds were down. Duck season will be back on us soon.
