I've got a pair of Tsunami conventionals 10'6 and 8'6, the ten is good for bait or big plugs and the shorter rod is just for plugging or snagging peanuts. Both have abu's hanging on them. I also have an 11' tica spinner which is a monster meat stick and a team daiwa 11 with the old 6500 Penn for throwing pencils.

I'm only a rare visitor here so I'm an unknown at this site but the guys here that might recognize me from the other site I frequent can vouch that I'm a bit of a gear whore
![]() Most of my time is spent plugging for Stripers in the Northern Monmouth county NJ area and in Montauk. Over the past few years the rods I used most were the Lami XS 101 MS, Kennedy Fisher 8720, Grizzly Fenwick and Purglas 300-1. Last year I got an AnyFish AnyWhere 11' Estuary rod and have barely touched the other rods since. I absolutely love this stick. Casts like nothing I've ever used, the thing is a cannon. Can do everything I want it to do from snap casting small jigs and Bombers to heaving heavy pikies and launching tins out of sight - literally. And it has the strength in the butt to bring a fish to hand quickly - an important thing when you're in a line up in Montauk (you don't want to be the guy that's tangling up with everyone around you ).<And no, I'm in no way affiliated with the AFAW company or any other fishing company for that matter, I just dig the rod> As for weight n bait my favorite is the BreakAway LDFC 119-2 with an Abu 7500 C3Ct |

I fish wood plugs I make. I use a Van Stall 150 and a Lamiglass Ron Arra 1084 I wrapped for 1-2 oz plugs.
For large wood plugs (2.5 to 4 plus oz) I use an old Penn 704 greenie on a Ron Arra 1205. |

Sudy - you like it better than the J Kennedy blank? WOW I may have to check this out!! I lost my J Kennedy to Barnegat inlet when I went for a swim Ive been using Lamis in place which are nice but the Kennedy had a much better range! I now use a 1084 and a 1205 Lami.Brian Mullaney |
