    Maybe some new ideas

I use the Grim Reaper Mechanicals, with great success on all types of game,my son uses the Muzzy and swears by them but, I'm not a fan of Muzzy's design, I like the Razor caps fixed broadhead if I had to use one.I didn't fair well with the rocket's version of mechanicals.

    Rockets

    Bearhunter-

I've never tried anything other than the rockets as far as mechanicals go. I have had pretty good success with them. Five deer, all pass through and recovered and one coyote. The coyote was not a pass through(a bit high) but it dropped on the spot. I got a call from the taxidermist today about that coyote. It is done! I can't wait to pick it up. In other news...I heard that the decision on the pheasant farm has been tabled. Have you heard anything?

    Good ole' NYS

    Hey Mr. Joe:

I live not far at all from one of the states biggest pheasant farms and I spoke with them the other day and they say it looks really bad and they don't expect any good news in the future.I just wish there is something that we all could do to stop that nonsense, I have tried a few things but nothing has come of it. Do you use the rockets with the bands on them, if so do they have thin blades and can you use them again, what about a shoulder hit, I love to yote hunt, how big was your dog, did you have a full mount done, let me ask you this, what time of the day do you think you see the most dogs moving.Getting a dog with the bow is a true trophy how did you get him.

    It took ten years

    Mr. Joe
Another log on the fire for the anti's, they have won the battle in Vermont and the Humane Society member Joanne Bourbeau says "we are happy" Most hunters just don't see the really big picture here as the anti's are getting their way and are winning these battles because most hunters just plain don't understand, the anti's picked a hot issue for them and for alot of hunters and that was high fence hunting, It took them ten years to get the ban on any future preserves and the two that do exist have to now obtain a license to operate and the requirements needless to say are crazy. That gives the anti's a total of 24 states where preserve hunting is banned or no future perserves to be opened. Most people and hunters say so what, presrve hunting is wrong to begin with but, here is where the big picture has to be seen, If, they keep winning these battles they are going to take it to a new level and that will be ALL HUNTING, and they are getting stronger each day, they fought this battle for TEN YEARS, this shows they will not give up or stop, will our children have the right to hunt in their future, right now it doesn't look really good. No matter what the issue is we, as hunters have to gather together and fight this war against us and our right to hunt, even if you don't agree you have to open your mind to the big picture and the war that we must fight don't let issues cloud your judgement.Think long and hard.

    Vemont?

    Bearhunter-

Don't get me started on Vermont. It appears as though hunting is worse in their eyes than child molestation. They just gives those guys a splap on the wrist. They don't take it away though. Do you think they are gaining steam or will be satisfied with victories like these?
I do use the bands on those rockets. I haven't been able to reuse the blades but the replacements are about 9 bucks for three heads. As far as a shoulder hits goes, it would be interesting to see how they hold up. I did get a shoulder mount done on the female coyote. The taxidermist says it was a good sized female aroud 30lbs. She looks small next to me(235lbs). She is only one of three I have seen in 23 years of hunting. I got her around 9:00 am. We have been seeing a good deal of tracks and a few deer carcasses in the overgrown orchard we have. It might be time to actively pursue them. I was deer hunting and she was trotting by at 23 yards. Now she has a warm place on the wall in my basement.

They are hunting our hunting rights !!!

    Hey Mr. Joe:

It's in stone and the law of the land in Vermont, no more hunting preserves at all forever, and the two that are still there they will make every effort to close them down to for sure. That makes 24 states with the help of the anti's where preserve hunting has been banned and or no more to open, it's a huge win for the anti's. Yes they are getting stonger every day and with each victory. They are smart enough to pick the issues that have hunters divided to begin with i.e. high fence and hunting preserves,so alot of the hunters out there pay no mind to it because they are against it thereselves, so, these little battles are won by the anti's and it just gives them more strengh with all of the right people and the law makers give in because there is no support from the hunting circles. We have to draw the line now and fight them no matter what the issue is, they are hunting our hunting rights you have to beware of the way the devil dresses and speaks. Yes Vermont is nuts about the way they consider hunting this is another reason why we should have took them on, Vermont has better moose hunting than most people realize by the way.

I use the grim reapers, they are the best as far as I'm concerned, they fly straight and true. I have taken on some objects in my hunting days that weren't planned but, happened, I had a doe 10 yards right in front of me and I let a arrow fly only to see the doe still standing in the same spot just looking at me with no concern it was then I saw the tiny one inch around maple sapping that I killed right in front of me that somehow I never saw, the arrow was half way through and the blades were fine and open, or the time I had a pass through on a deer when the arrow took on a stone wall fence the blades where just fine I have shot through my block into the giant oak tree behind it and the blades were fine, I shot through many deer shoulders and an elk last year with the blades intact, in another words these broadheads are unreal.I have used them for a few years with no problems at all. That was a great dog you got for sure and the mount sounds great, you have added more information to my efforts on hunting dogs which I hunt alot, and you came in with the exact time that I say is the best time of the day(not compared to night time hunting) to get a dog, thats between 9 and 10 am, thats when I see dogs all the time doing just what you stated. They are a blast to hunt, remember you can hunt them at night with lights and calls with your weapon of choice.

    Hey Mr. Joe:

Did you know that Vermont has the most relaxed gun laws in the nation.

No I didn't. It seems as though when they get rid of the hunting, the guns won't be to far behind.
