Tigerfish Fishing Report, San Francisco, CA, 8-01-10
July 31, 2010
Good Evening TIGERFISH Faithful,
Our LanJam Charter today greatly desired an opportunity to go after the elusive Chinook Salmon. We started the day off trolling for salmon. By 11:00 am, without a salmon on board our group was becoming increasingly enthusiastic about switching over to fish for rockfish. Suddenly we were hooked up! Our first salmon trip did not produce a goose egg. We landed the 14 pound King. We were now obligated to give the salmon fishing just a little more time to see what would develop. Unfortunately nothing more came of our efforts. At noon we it quits on the salmon and headed for the cod grounds. We were struck with a noticeable swell and Southwest wind up to 12 knots. When we arrived on the cod grounds the wind backed off and the slaughtering began. By days end we bagged 21 limits of beautiful rockfish, 1 ling cod to 7 pounds, and a beautiful king salmon.
If you would like to join us for coastal rockfishing during the week or Farallone Islands rockfishing on the weekend, please call us directly at 650.455.9599.
