Well I heard tale of some fish being caught, yes it is true not a lot but life. "He's Alive", remember the movie. Tell you what come in and tell me the name of the movie that line came from if you get it I will give you a Maverick product. OK back to the bite, some are cranking Bd3s and 4s and using the Rick Clunn series up in the shallow waters. Others are starting to throw Speed Traps in fire tiger and chartreuse blue but all in all some nice signs. The bite seems to be hit and miss depending on the day but regular reports are coming in. Some rip fish still being caught doesn't seem to be a color thing more of a location thing so if you are around good ripping water pull it out and try it. I like points where tulles emerge in the spring, remember there are weeds growing as we speak on some of these points so try a few out. Swim Baits well the best bite I have heard is River 2 Sea dragged real slow on the bottom, recently I have started coloring my baits just to make them look different. Paint Pins work great. For those who like plastics the Shaky Head worked real slow barely moving with a Maverick Xmas gold 8 inch did well this week. I have heard tale of a better minnow bite this week. A young man accompanied by his grandfather a long term customer got 13 fish on Thursday in 3 hours. Had the thumb rash to prove it, way to go and grandpa thanks for taking him fishing he looked stoked.

Many of you have asked questions about places to stay, and where to eat while in Lakeport, so here are my suggestions. Lodging, I prefer Rocky Point Cottages a beautiful setting with cabins more for the individual looking for a place where they can cook and have more of a home like atmosphere. The Skylark Shores Resort has many rooms an can handle large groups and has been a destination for some time. Another great location is the Mallord House Great rooms at a great price. One of my favorite places to eat is Rene's Cafe across the street from Tackle It. great comfort food and they are fishermen friendly, just tell them Ed sent you and they will take care of you like family. Remember to check out the new online store her at www.tackleit.biz.

Tune into fishing reports on 1630 AM. If you are around the shop you can tune your car radio into this channel and listen to live fishing reports 24 hours a day.

For those who need BOAT INSURANCE June has worked out some great pricing with some of her carriers, so if you are looking for insurance give her a call at Vantreo Insurance 707-546-2300 ext 217. Also, soon you will be able to visit are store on line. So please keep your eyes open for this launch.

Check out our Live Web Cam to see what the lake conditions are. Remember we have access from a dock on the water so if you run out of anything, look for our sign at the dock at the Lucky 4 Resort just south of the Skylark Shores Motel. Just pull up to the dock, park your boat, and come on up through the trailer park to see us.

If there is anything we can do to make your fishing trip on Clear Lake more enjoyable, please let us know. It is our privilege to serve you.
