Some nice Tournaments, we have seen Jigs, Worms, Swim Baits, Rip Baits all do well. The key is finding active fish. Everyone knows the the docks in front of Anderson were holding but did you know because of the pressure you could push back and catch them deeper on Worms. So when the top water and swim bait action slowed all you needed to do was push back with a 8 inch worm rigged Texas or Drop Shot and pick up some nice fish. And what about that school out in front on the points by Konocti Vista, well here when the Slammers and Swim Baits action slowed a Chatter Bait seemed to be the ticket. Over on Henderson a lot of us like to crank that spot but Drop Shotting a big worm was a really good pattern lately and when the bite slowed we had luck throwing a spoon up shallow and walking it down the ledge. If you want to catch fish you should come to the lake we are getting fish a variety of ways and on a variety of baits as well.

Many of you have asked questions about places to stay, and where to eat while in Lakeport, so here are my suggestions. Lodging, I prefer Rocky Point Cottages a beautiful setting with cabins more for the individual looking for a place where they can cook and have more of a home like atmosphere. The Skylark Shores Resort has many rooms an can handle large groups and has been a destination for some time. A few other great places to stay are the Mallard House Great rooms at a great price and the Carriage House. One of my favorite places to eat is Rene's Cafe across the street from Tackle It. great comfort food and they are fishermen friendly, just tell them Ed sent you and they will take care of you like family. And for when luck is not kind and you need your truck or Auto repaired Mackey Tire Center here on South Main street is my choice great service and great people. Tune into fishing reports on 1630 AM. If you are around the shop you can tune your car radio into this channel and listen to live fishing reports 24 hours a day.
