Fellow Sportsmen, 12/12/11
I finished up the weekend trips and we had some of the best weather ever. Saturday we had 4 bass runs on bullheads but only landed one good keeper. We also had a sturgeon but it was just under 46 inches so back it went. The best bait was eel/grass and bullheads. Sunday I had a light load of 3 fishermen and a different plan. We landed 3 keeper bass and 2 sturgeon, one of the sturgeon was a good keeper. The best bait was a single ghost shrimp on a single hook. Only one of the bass came on a bullhead. The best time for both days was during the last 3 hours of the big outgo tide. I am going to put together a night trip for that good outgo tide Thursday the 15th. We will meet at the boat at 2:00pm and fish until about 1:00am. Elk burgers for diner! Also the 19th to the 25th we have some of the best tides of the season and these are all day tides.
Enjoy the photo.

Fellow Hardcore Sturgeon Fishermen, 12/9/11

A quick update, I had some hardcore fishermen on the weekend that braved the high winds and cold. They stuck with it but the sturgeon did not want to play. I guess they did not want to play in those weather conditions. It was tough fishing! The sturgeon are starting to wake up as we are seeing some action the last two days. Wednesday we had 4 opportunities and three hookups. The first hookup came unbuttoned, the next two were landed but were short and the last one was a case of who’s rod is it! By the time it was figured out who’s rod it was the fish was gone, classic bites! Thursday we had some missed bites but we landed 3 sturgeon. Two were short and one was a 54 inch keeper. Wednesday all the action was on roe and Thursday all the action was on JPS (just plain shrimp) and both days the action was at the end of the outgoin tide and in the same place, Bouy 4, Go figure! The tides are still building and we have some of the best tides of the month this weekend. I will be back on the water tomorrow through the weekend. Mid to late morning start times and we will fish well into dark. I do have some room if you would like to join us. Enjoy the photo of Robert Gonzeles from Hayward with his first keeper sturgeon on his very first sturgeon trip!
