Springer update

The Columbia River is closed to springer fishing because sport anglers have reached their quota. Although the River is closed, there is still springer and steelhead fishing near Astoria at Young’s Bay, Blind Slough and Knappa Slough.

There is still plenty of fishing in the tributaries. All these rivers are open seven days-a-week and have a two fish bag limit. The Willamette is fishing very well; fish are starting to move into the Sandy and Clackamas rivers and springers will be entering the Hood and Deschutes rivers soon.

Adult fly fishing class

Here’s a great opportunity to give fly fishing a try. Saturday, June 5, Laverne County Park on the North Fork of the Coquille River. Registration is $40 and includes equipment and lunch.
