Mazatlan Mexico offshore & inshore update
Offshore fishing has been a little up and down. The water tempreture Is cooler this year than last. Bad news is, although the Mahi Mahi run that started in April last year has not kicked off yet. The good news is that the cooler water has kept numbers of Striped Marlin here longer ! Some days all boats were catching 2 to 4 Marlin per boat per day. Also inshore fishing for Roosterfish Has been very good this year with many 20 plus pounders taken and some 30 and even a few 50's. The legendairy Billy Chappman Jr. owner of our premiere lodge on the famed Lake El Salto caught a 50lb plus Roosterfish a few weeks back right at the mouth of the channel from the marinawhere it enters the Pacific. May 22,23,24, the winds were high, no boats were aloud out because the harbor master had shut down exiting the marina's. That left only surf fishing a possibility.
