[Fishing Report]

Fellow Sportsmen, 12/28/11

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, I did.

I was back at work on the water Monday. Monday and Tuesday was tough fishing, the water temperature was down a degree since the last trip and all we could land was some shaker sturgeon and a lot of small bass. One of the small sturgeon was a green! We did land a few keeper bass though. Today the water temperature was up a degree and a half. I was still loading the hooks up with salmon roe but discovered that the sturgeon were interested in eel and grass shrimp combo. We had 4 opportunities and landed two keeper sturgeon and a keeper bass. The bass took just plain grass shrimp and all the sturgeon action was on eel/grass combo. Nothing touched the salmon roe. We were fishing between Buoy 2 and the Benicia Bridge in 39 feet of water. They bit on both tides. The weather was beautiful and warm, what a great day. I will take the next couple days off due to the slower tides and New Years. I will be back on the water Monday and I do have a little room next week. Also there are some great daytime tides next week. With the water warming it should be good. Enjoy the photos. And a Happy New Year to all.

Well Sportsmen, 12/23/11

The bigger tides are working as we braved the wind yesterday and it payed off. We started in some ugly wind but as the day progressed the weather improved. We had opportunities on and off through the whole day. We stuck it out until the end of the tide. During the last hour we landed 3 sturgeon, one was short and the last two were keepers. I want to wish everyone a Merry Xmas and I am off for the next 3 days. I will be back on the water Monday. Enjoy the photo and there are more on the photo album page.
