Flash Sportfishing San Francisco fishing report 1-3
Fellow Sportsmen, 01/03/12
Well I hope everyone had a great New Year holiday, I did. I was back on the water Monday with a light charter of 4. The wind was a little unfriendly so we had to fish near the Benicia Bridge. We had quite a few opportunities and only had 2 shaker sturgeon and 2 keeper bass. Yesterday we had no wind and a beautiful day with some good action. I am not sure but I think we had 6 or 7 sturgeon hookups. Patrick (baitchucker) hooked a big fish that was on fire! It took a very fast run of about 150 yards of line. The heartbreak was it was tangled with another line and we think that may be the reason the fish came unbuttoned. He was using one of his own custom rods that he built. It has roller guides and what a sound it made when the fish was screaming line off. Later on he was rewarded for is good attitude with a 50 inch keeper. We also had 6 or 8 bass but only one was a keeper. All the sturgeon action was on eel and grass shrimp. We had 4 Salmon rods out that never got touched. The bass all went for the grass shrimp. The best action was during the ebb tide in 27 feet of water near Garnet Pt. We have great tides and weather the rest of the week. I am booked full all the way to Monday except for Saturday. Saturdays charter had to reschedule so Saturday is now open. Enjoy the photo of Patrick ( Baitchucker)
