Current Report:

What a gorgeous weekend for fishing. There are lots of stripers making there way into the delta. We fished all weekend from Pittsburg on down the river. The deeper water at the turn of the tide was the trick for catching the bigger stripers. Both shad and bullheads are good baits for the stripers. During the moving tide we have been fishing in shallower water. There are still a lot of smaller stripers in the system but the bigger fish are definately starting to show up. There will be more movement on the tides this week which should produce some nice catches of striped bass. This last week we took fish from 4 pounds to the one 28 pound fish. The majority of the fish are in the 5 to 9 pound class but we are seeing a few more in the teens this last week. The shorter days should help get the water temperature to start dropping again. This will enhance to movement of the fish. The best areas have been from Chain Island, the deeper water at Pittsburg, Honker Bay, Seal Island, and Grizzly Bay. There are lots of areas to choose from depending on the tide. We will be out most of the week fishing for stripers. We will try to get the action posted as it happens this week. It is our favorite time of the year for striper fishing in the delta. If you want to get in on some fun bait fishing, give us a call. We have some room most of the days.
