McKenzie River: Trout fishing has been pretty decent the last few days with the sun not so high in the sky now you can just about fish dries all day long. There is a lot more shaded areas now and the trout are taking flies on the surface. Try Morrish's October Caddis adult and also Kingrey's adult October Caddis. In the riffles use Oct. Caddis pupa patterns traild by the old trusty Possie Bugger.

North Santiam: The river opens Nov. 1st. for Coho. For trout, you better get those October Caddis patterns out and ready to go. Still some steelhead around from Packsaddle to Fishermen's Bend.

Coastal Estuaries: There are still a lot of Sea-Run Cutts in the estuaries. Salmon fishing is also picking up for fly anglers. The tail end of last week was slow for some but with salmon it will turn on and off like a light switch. You just have to keep at it.
