Report updated 7/18/10
We have had a lot of requests for fishing reports and we would love to hear from you! Please submit your pictures and fishing reports to fishingreport@coyotebait.com We will integrate them to our reports to provide you with the most accurate information.
Anderson Lake - The bass bite has been decent for smallish fish from 1-2 lbs. Drop shot roboworms and drag senkos and brush hogs off the main lake points from 2-18 feet of water depending on the time of day.
Calero Lake - The bass bite here is decent for fish from 2-4 lbs. with an occasional bigger fish in the mix. Throw topwater in the mornings and evenings. Poppers, spooks, and frogs have been working well along the weed lines. Drag plastic on the edge of the weed lines and on the rocky points for the best success. Some bluegill have been caught around the launch ramp with wax worms, red worms, and nightcrawlers.
Coyote Lake - The bass bite here is on and off. One lucky angler got on a killer bite and his best 5 fish weighed around 40 lbs! He caught the fish on crankbaits. Fish frogs, crank, and drag jigs and plastic all along the lake. Crappie has been good on wax worms, small minnows, and jigs on both banks adjacent to the launch ramp.
Chesboro - Bass fishing has been good in the south end of the lake where the creek dumps in. Drag senkos up and down the creek channel. Catfishing has been fair at night for anglers using chicken liver, anchovies, and mackeral.
Uvas - Bass bite has been good as well as the catfishing. People have been throwing jerkbaits in the flats, dragging senkos, and using crankbaits and chatterbaits in the less weedy areas. Catfish have been reported near the creekside of uvas and off the dam. Use large minnows, mackerel, or chicken liver.
Parkway Lake - Parkway is now stocking catfish. The bite has been decent fishing cheese bait, mackeral, chicken liver, and nightcrawlers. Call 408-629-9111 for more information.
San Luis Reservoir/O'Neil Forebay - The striper bite has been fair at the forebay. High winds have kept anglers off the water. Most of the fish are schoolies from 1-3 lbs. and have been caught fishing anchovies, sardines, pile worms, and blood worms. If you wanna try some lures throw some jerkbaits, rattletraps, and small pearl flukes in the 5-10 foot range. Try the 152 bridge and Check 12 for the best success. I've had no reports from the main dam.
SF Bay/Ocean - Salmon fishing has been decent the last week in Monterey Bay on the edges of the Soquel Hole down deep. Guys have had success trolling purple haze hoochies, spoons, and crippled anchovies. The inshore bite has been picking up for halibut in front of the Santa Cruz harbor as well as up the coast towards Davenport. Stripers have also been caught along the beaches from New Brighton south to Monterey on poppers and fish traps.
