Careyes Mexico Area

Has anyone been? I'll be going there in the late fall and am starting to do some research. It looks like there are tons of rocks on the shoreline, so I would think that there would be some awesome jack fishing as well as some good roosters and snappers.

I'd love to get some local intel if anyone has been/is from there.

Thanks in advance,
Shoe

It's on the pacific, about a 3 hour drive south of PV. The two towns that are on either side are Chamela and Barra de Navidad. I really can't wait.

Small scale longliners have hit that area of the coast hard for years now, if you can get out far enough/the offshore currents are close enough you could do OK.

Have fished Barra area inshore years past, usually better from a boat.

If you're fishing on the rocks/beach anywhere along that coast beware the ground swell many a person has been swept away.

That's sad about the long liners. How far offshore do you think you have to be?

Do you remember who you fished with in Barra? Any recommendations?

thanks!
