The weather has been great here for the last few weeks but there have not been many anglers on the water. There was one boat who fishing in the bait balls near the Santa Cruz wharf this weekend who caught a nice Halibut in 50 feet of water. The crab fishing is still going good for the anglers in 200-240 feet of water near Davenport. There has been some good signs of Salmon in the Squid and Anchovy balls near Davenport. With all this good weather the bait is moving in quickly and it is time to start looking for some early Halibut and Sea bass. There is squid up and down the coast so this should be another great year. There has been some Halibut and Sea bass caught in Monterey in 80-120 feet of water for the anglers who are working hard.
