bogey good to hear from ya. The boat project took the summer off because the fishing was so good here. Yes white marlin do pull drag if you let them. But that keeps us from hooking more and then requires line changes. Rather have the captain burn the transmissions up and save our precious line Its kinda cool to feel a 50lb fish pull 6lbs of drag. Its really cool to feel a 58 ft boat swing around and plow stern first into a 8ft swell at 8 knots. ITS ALL ABOUT THE BITE!!!!

White marlin is excellent eating. The wife gets pissed seeing all them upside down flags. she has mastered the art of getting good texture out of the meat. but still love the smoked marlin the best. we have stuck to our selfmade rule of only killing marlin in the tournaments and believe me they don't go to waste.
