Well sfc's very own capt say is down there fishing on the 'knot easy' owned by syam galbaransingh and it looks like they are in the lead after day 1!!!
overall unofficially four blue marlin have been released by the fleet of 28 international boats and 27 local boats.
Fishing is slow overall but its fishing none the less
seems like a good few smaller yellowfin tuna are around so hopefully a big mamma is around munching on them and will show in the tournament
unofficial standing are as follows 1 knot easy 2 magic lady 3 blue fever 4 legacy
1 dolphin and 7 yellowfins came to scale today
more to come later as i find out more

well day 2 is over!!!
and ega beaver is still hooked up from 11 am this morning.... rumor has it its a big fish and an experienced crew with roger aleong on board he was the former tobago record holder at 630something and has several fish over 600 from tobago to his credit. i believe its his sister jeanne on the rod and reel this could be some exciting stuff.
from the reports i have been getting from the guys calling me lots of yellowin tuna coming to the scale and and a good number of releases with a possible white marlin in the mix
i am not sure of the leader board standing at the moment but wanted to put up that someone is still hooked up to possibly a nice fish
i will report back when i know more

unofficially knot easy with capt say is in 2nd going into the last day with 2 blues and a tuna. finesse is in first with two blues and a tuna as well i believe its about a lb seperating the two based on the tuna weight
ega beaver just lost their fish after 7.5 hours what a shame i will get the details when i talk to some of the boys tomorrow on the day off i am sure they will be super disappointed word on the street though is it was on a 50 but i havent been able to verify that properly so not sure on that
par-t-time tagged two today so had a good showing
the fish are starting to bite it seems
everyone has been commenting about large amounts of smaller sized yellowfin (-50lb) around so hopefully someone can get the big girl to the boat.... the 'finesse' crew said they lost a nice one after a tough 3 hr battle yesterday and the 7.5 today makes it sound like there are some large girls tormenting the fleet
sunday should be a great day of fishing
tomorrow is the lay day and from the phone calls i have received and made the party is well under way

edit - just talked to peter amann (capt gerard 'frothy' de silva's right hand man in tobago and runs one of capt frothy's boats during the season) and he lost one est 700 today on the boat 'big deal' 31 bertram after 2.5 hours when one of the gear boxes died during the fight and they could no longer maneuver appropriately and ended up losing the fish to a broken mainline
lots of hard luck stories this year wow.....

Cool. Thanks for that. If Jay managed a finish then I know it will be days before he resurfaces ! Good on him. Sounds like the bite closed down a little........
oh dear i stand corrected it looks like legacy from barbados got in there at the last minute.......
1st place-Ringleader
2nd place-Legacy
3rd place-Finesse
syam galabaransingh of the 'knot easy' the boat capt say was fishing on did win best male angler
sorry for the misinformation in the last post but that was the word i was hearing from people at the tournament on the cell phone
edit - capt frothy's tournament has the most awesome prizes in my experience rods and reels galore and lures like a tackle shop along with works of arts are given out as well as coolers and cash prizes i know if anyone had broke the record of 890lb for a blue marlin they got a brand new mercedes!!!!!
so i am sure capt say is having a blast ....
