Through pin or twist it up?
Big Baits with a circle: how much drag while trolling, assume your big bait gets crashed, how much drag would there have been on the bite? |

straight through the pin so you can drop back to the fish through the pin...........twist it up and the fish feels the resistance and senses something's not right

I fish my flats twisted up, my riggers through the pin. Almost freespool on the flats, clicker on, enough drag to keep it from creeping on the riggers, clicker on. Immediately turn clicker off when feeding fish.
Big baits with circles are new to me but the discussion at the docks has been 12 pounds or so, but still try to beat him to it. I am toying with the idea of twisting it up and leaving a belly from the tip to the pin for some built in drop back. |
