Fished on Monday with Bill Funk on his Reel Fancy. The Mad Tuna Scientist struck again. What an incredible day. Flat calm seas and steady bites. Couldn't get the spread set because we kept getting nipped by tiny blackfins, Constant bait destruction. Started dropping the jigs back while Bill maintained 6.5knots. Started plucking the blackfins off with the jigs. Then bill ran of the marks and for the next 2 hours it was meyham. Caught our limit of 18 yellowfins and a couple bigger class blackfins on trolled baits and high speed jigs. Decided to hit the weedlines for some mahi. The mahis looked like we they born yesterday so we left the weedline and threw out the deep rigs in attempt to catch a wahoo. No love on the wahoo. Hit Bill's numbers for some tilefish and scored on a limit of fat blue lines with some over 13 lbs. Then I got a big pull. Hoping it was a grouper but we quickly knew it was shark. Had fun with that and got her up for a picture. Checked the time and it was 1:30 so we headed Home. Great day will Bill, Jake, John Rogers and crew.
