I second this. We use it in the Bahamas. The house is hooked up to hughes net satellite internet service and the skype is worthless. If you go to a wifi spot or a plug in spot it is much better.

Is that download by satellite and upload by something else?

Right now 16,313,589 folks have there skype on....
In the 90's our average international call was 3 bucks a minute in West Africa... Now it's basically free with Skype!
Just talked a long while to my buddy in Panama city on his cell as he tries to finish his Panga... Cost, less than a buck!

We used it at the lodge in Punta Barica, Panama and it worked pretty good, and that was over radio transmitted internet and then wifi

I got it a while back. A friend of mine was undergoing Chemo and was in isolation. It was a great way for him to stay in touch with his friends since he was not allowed any visitors while his immune system was shot.

Its not bad for what it is on the audio side but there is some incredible platforms on the way that we are beta testing now that will let you do multisite video calls that will amaze you. Wouldn't it be great to see the person posting live....(Oh wait never mind that might scare us away with some of the folks on here)
