RIP Capt. Valdez

I would like to send my deepest symapthies to our board memeber Sancocho (jose) for the unexpected loss of his brother this past week. Capt Heron Valdez was the Captain of the Circle Hook in Iztapa, Guatemala. He died at the young age of 34 of a heart attack on his was to the market to pick up supplies. I was very sadden to hear this news. Capt Valdez always had a smile and a kind word on the dock eventhough he didn't know me well.

It seems that it has been a tough year on our small community of fishermen this year. RIP Captain.

See ya in a couple days Jose.

I didn't know Heron very well either but he was always smiling and upbeat on the docks, even when the fishing wasn't great (which isn't too often in Guatemala, but it does happen from time to time).

Prayers to the Valdez family.
