Just a quick question. Is Mono nowadays the leader of choice for rigging mackerels or is it still common to rig them with wire?
Also is the circle hook nowadays normally used with mackerels or is the J hook belly rig still more common? Many thanks patudo |

Depends on what your doing..... mono works fine for billfish. High highly recommend switching to circle hooks though, you'll get better hookup ratios and its just much better for the fish. We use Eagle Claw circle sea 19/0 and 20/0's.
