Quepos Adventures Semana Santa Report

The tourist have been in town all week with a few serious Anglers among them. The Estrella de Mar fished 6 consecutive days with some success and some days of hard fishing with little to show for it.

April 4th, the Zymund family headed out for a full day of offshore fishing. Captain Jesus reports a variety of fish in the spread but had difficulty enticing anything to bite. At the days end the report was 2 sailfish landed, two tuna hooked but not brought in. Although hoping for a few more fish, the group was very happy with the calm seas and of course the acres of dolphin swimming with the tuna.

April 5th, the Charles group headed out for a full day of offshore fishing. The three guys had the hearts set on sailfish and marlin. It looked like everything was in there favor. Early in the day a blue Marlin was leadered before release. The rest of the day was a battle. Sailfish were everywhere, but again Jesus and Memo had to work hard to entice a bite. The final tally for the day was 9 sailfish raised with 3 landed.

April 6, the Williams family fished a full day offshore. The kids were anxious to land a sailfish. The were able to raise 5 and land 2 for the day along with some Mahi Mahi for dinner.

April 7, again Jesus reported the Pacific teaming with fish, but despite the leading moon, nothing was feeding. The Smith group barely escaped being skunked when just after lunch the bite turned on just a bit. They were able to raise 4 sailfish, leadering 2.

April 8, Mark, Rob and German, booked a full day offshore and set out for Sailfish and Marlin. The guys worked hard to raise 6 sailfish but landed only 2. Rob who didn’t get to land a fish was kind enough to send the attached photos. If you are worried about what the ladies were doing while stranded all day, don’t. They were very happy with a day spent at the Raindrop Spa. They wanted to recommend it to the fishing widows spending time in Manuel Antonio.

April 9th, the Greg Smith grouped return for another day of fishing. Today they hoped to change their luck by bringing along a couple of younger anglers. Today they did have a bit more luck, landing 3 sailfish in the morning before heading in and catching 2 roosterfish offshore Manuel Antonio Beach.
