Predator hits the Century Mark!

Donnie, Jul. dave Sikorski, Al, John and adam and i headed out today with a single goal in mind. We wanted to help Donnie and Jul catch their 100th white marlin of the season. So at 4:00am we cleared the inlet and headed for the 550line around the norfolk. Lines in just after sunrise and the day started off looking bleak. We heard chatter on the radio of brandon catching 4 up the line and rick seeing a double and catching first thing but no fish wanted to play with us. We saw willie catch one and the heard of Josh up the line meatfishing seeing 4 or 5. But we just couldn't raise one. At 10:20 finally jul says right teaser. He puts his bait back to the teaser and the teaser comes up but no love. Donnie drops the teaser back. There he is again, right teaser. This happened three times before he disappeared. When donnie went into the turn I could see the squid dredge perfectly and realized the fish was switching back and forth from the dredge to the teaser. All of sudden he tailed off and popped up behind the right short. and then without warning he comes up on the left short (may have been a different fish) I get the left short and he is on. Get him to the boat quickly for 98. Then nada, nothing zilch for hours as we hear of other boats consistantly seeing them a few miles up the line. Donnie says, i wasn't patient yesterday and left the fish. I am not doing that today. So we stick it out but when Chad sees a a couple more Donnie says enough and we move up the line. Good Move. I was standing by the right flat contimplating taking a pee when he comes in hot on the right flat. Do a quick feed as I feel the line is screaming from the getgo and hook him up. Typically donnie would look for more but I yell up to the bridge something doesn't feel right. I don't think he is hooked well or he is wrapped but something is wrong. We clear and Donnies gets back to the fish real quick. Get the fish to the boat and he is all wrapped up in the leader to the swivel but green and mean. Jul clears the fish and 99 is in the books. 3 minutes later fish pops up on the right short. I fed him but missed badly. The fish just hung around the boat for a while but wouldn't commit to anybody and finally the bridge pole pops and nothing but a head and its gettin late. Donnie says we'll fish till five. at 4:15pm Jul says watch the right long. I pick it up and point to the rigger just in case and as if on cue line is peeling as I put it in free spool. Never saw the fish just did it because. Fish comes tight and I knew there was no looking for a second fish on this one. Everyone clears the lines and Donnie works the fish hard. at 4:20 we get the release on number 100 but the fish takes off again and puts on a show of a life time. What a treat to see that fish do its thing 10 feet from the boat. hi fives and beverages for all. What a long great day. Those guys fish hard and deserve it. Congrats to Donnie, Jul and Howard on a great year. BUT we still have 8 days left in our marlin club season. I know there are a few more left!

Nice work boys. You guys deserve it. Nothing against the D.A. Sea, but I'm pulling for ya. And like I told Jul thursday night. If you need someone next week I'm in. Congrats on a great season.

Reel Joy
Legasea

They haven't updated since weds I think. Legasea should be close to 80 and they have been seeing quite a few. yesterday he saw at least 9 and caught 3 while meatfishing the day before they caught 10.
